Air India are to resume direct services between London and New York from 15 August 2016, several years after they last operated the Transatlantic route.
The new service will operate three times per week utilising two Air India Boeing 787s configured in a two class service of business and economy class. The business class cabin, Executive Class, will consist of 18 lie-flat seats arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration with economy consisting of 238 seats arranged in a 3-3-3 configuration.
Previously the Air India London New York service operated as part of the Delhi to London route, however the new service will be linked to the Ahmedabad London route, travelling into Newark Liberty International. Flights will depart Heathrow Terminal 4 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:30, arriving into Newark at 15:00, with return flights operating every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from Newark at 22:30 arriving into Heathrow at 10:15.
