Delta has today been forced to ground it’s entire fleet worldwide after it’s computer systems crashed this morning, leaving thousands of passengers stranded globally.
The problem was caused by an overnight power failure in the early hours of Monday 8 August in Atlanta near Delta’s headquarters. Although Delta’s systems have subsequently been restored and flights are therefore operational once more, knock-on effects are being experienced and therefore all Delta flights are still subject to delay, with Heathrow reporting that delays are continuing this afternoon.
MIDAS would not recommend travelling to the airport without checking your flight status if you are due to travel with Delta for the remainder of Monday 8 August. Up-to-date status information can be found by clicking here.
